Turbojet help?

So after the update, I have tried using the turbojet in ssto builds. However, as i reach MACH 4-5 the engines overheat and nothing I do changes that (throttling down, engine nacelles, etc). Anyone know what is causing this?

And if someone already posted this, i apologize severely.

I think you're going to have to go into a bit more detail about your setup... Are you intake-spamming? I'm guessing yes since normally you can't reach MACH speeds above about 4 before you run out of air. Also, that sort of behaviour is exactly how turbojets should behave when trying to fly them at such speeds. The failure to stop overheating is a bit odd, though. Are you using any mods?

I'm using the B9 Aerospace pack. I'm flying around 20-25km when i switch to using both jets and rockets. before the update i was able to cruise at 20km just jets without overheating.

Scott Manley mentioned something about this the other day. I think it's something to do with the Interstellar mod or a different one, if you have those installed.

That's what I was thinking too. Manley was either talking about Interstellar or FAR. I clearly remember he mentioned something like that in one of his latest video's.

Its interstellar pack for sure. They put in the fact that at high speed the intakes can't keel the air cool enough for the engines. There is an pre-cooler part in the pack for it.

yup - with interstellar, the big inline radial air intake (otherwise pointless, really) has been repurposed as an intake cooler. Takes up some power but can be attached directly to an air intake to cool the airflow down and prevent the high-speed overheats..

Because I tried it on one of my designs and they never seemed to actually activate, and there were no controls to manually do so, so... not entirely sure about them.
