I need help getting this into space.

Recommended Posts

So far my attempts to launch the big lab with only the first big motor unlocked(large version of the 909) I found the way to get it up is to build the lifter around the lab instead of under it. I had 2 layers of 6x asparagus boosters going and it got up with fuel to spare. Unfortunately not enough for my plans for it.

It's possible without doing that, or even using asparagus staging.

All 1m parts, except for the poodle:

By "possible" I really mean "If I screw up at ANY point during the first 3 stages on that thing, it will not reach orbit". If I don't screw up, I have a science lab and 3km/s dV in orbit :D

With a lot more tweaking I probably could have gotten it up that way too. I was having stability issues with launch because it wanted to flip so I lowered the center of mass by lowering the payload down into the lifter.

Needs tweaked because I had to dump the last part of the lifter to dock. Unfortunately the plans I had of flying lab and lander to Minmus for repeated science collection failed due to a lack of Dv. Burned to much fuel getting out there so I only did 1 landing and returned on the fumes.

(if your problem is structural)

usually, dont go back to 1.25m from 2.5m, unless you want your rockets go structural failure. (yes you can put thousands of strut to avoid that, but hey, why no avoid it all from the beginning)

try to invert the drop sequence,

rover on top of the probe on top of the lab
