We have 7 modules and only 6 people total (Mono, you can go too after everyone else has cycled through at least once if you want). At least one person has to double up.

I'll volunteer for Habitation. Mono, are we going in order of module or in order of sign up for launches?

It's in order of signups, except for the power truss, which has to go after the habitation.

So, what to do now?

Send a few satellite for scanning Kethane deposit?

I would suggest enabling debug on kethane so that you don't need to scan, so as to save time. After this, while Weegee is planning his project, I'll probably send down some marker probes at good base locations. That way if you don't want to enable debug, you don't have to and you can still know good places to land for bases.

More people should get on the list. I'll be making my run tomorrow morning ASAP and get the save up on my dropbox. I'll add a section for the latest persistence in the second post.

I'd love to join! I also have just assembled a VERY long term mun base definitely expandable (suiting your video card can handle it). Here's a picture for my current entry.

Base currently has seating for 21, but quite happily runs with 3 Kerbins (currently the head brass but I can send a crew swap as well), and has a small buggy nearby. Base is placed near the Armstrong memorial. I added on the latest module literally 30 minutes ago before I saw this post so I was worried about looks over part count but it can take 3 more modules.

Camera angle and lighting makes me kinda sad... I launched it in 3 pieces. The main lander, the 1st habitat module, and than the second (the 2 modules form the T shape). There are 3 large clamps open for expanding although I'm basically done with all the recording I'll be doing due do more lag.

I'm also making a video of my launch of this base so if you guys make a flag, I could use it :P

Suggested Mun base location...

1) They are at high ground >4000m. Hence save fuel for taking off and landing.

2) They get the 1st light from the Kerbol (Sun), and longer expose to sun.

3) They don't get block by shadow of terrain.

4) You can have nice screen shoot with far away object such as Kerbin, Kerbol, Minmus.

I'll definitely look at them. It also comes down to the kethane deposits (if the base is to be a kethane base; non-kethane dependent bases can go there with or without kethane). The poles also look good too, perpetual day and no night time problems for power (just requires a slightly different solar panel mounting for polar locations). The midlands on the right half of the map is a popular location for my bases.

I' have 2 more things.

- Captain Sierra can you start a list of proposed projects and maybe a link to the post it was proposed?

- If it isn't taken, I take claim to a Mun exploration module project dubbed "Inquiry base" or something like that. (I have less experience with Kethane than most of you but I can definitely add it in for extra modules)

Captain Sierra thank you for letting me in and sorry for my stream of messages asking for information :P. I have all that I need for a while and I'm off for the night.

See you all later!

I've got a SUPER FAST Kethane Miner rover.

Advantages:-

1) It got 4 big driller, that suck Kethane like crazy.

2) Huge tanks 4000 units of Kethane fill up in no time.

2) Its mobile.

3) Its can work on day and night.

4) Big wheels makes it easy to move on moon surface.

5) Applicable via KAS or Manual docking. (Configurable for sr/normal/jr docking port).

Oh is there a standard height we are building for with bases? you can see the height I've been using before joining in one of my above posts. And Sirine, that rover looks awesome.

Thanks. The height of the connection port are adjustable.

Yes, agree. There should be a standard height, and connection port for base. (Unless we are using KAS).

Mk. I'm going to be doing a group Mun base project and I have an easy base height separate from KAS, but I'll post a picture of what my standard is here: Mg4HFHl.png

Put large landing gear angle snapped straight up and down with a horizontal hitchhiker (I refer to the landing leg closest to the camera not the angled one.). Nice, easy, and good looking'

Well, I'm good with anything, but how is this working? I can't always have access to a good computer (every other day, because reasons) so it depends on when this is happening. Are we doing all the missions in a burst, or just whenever people sign up? If we're doing it all today or based on when you sign up (and when others are completed), then I can do the second launch, the first fuel tank.

You sign up and you get on the list. Then we go down the list. Typically, a launch window is 24 hours. If you aren't on your KSP machine that day, you can switch with the person after you, pushing you back a day.

My mission is now complete, updating persistence DL now. Next person may begin theirs as soon as they wish.

Sirine, that's nice. If you want you can put that on the Mun as an off-project mission (the perks of that being off project missions have zero restrictions). After the station is complete, and Weegee starts planning his project, you can call the save file for a day (24 hours) and put that up. I plan on doing the same to run a bunch of service calls (fuelling the station partway, adding some crew, doing Munar kethane scouting, etc.)
