Highest G turn in an aircraft.

Recommended Posts

For this challenge, you must perform the highest G turn in a jet powered aircraft!

Rules:

You cannot leave the lower atmosphere. (This means the first light bluer bar on the atmosphere gauge.)

For the love of kerb, use wings.

include pictures of your plane on the runway, flying, and doing something cool, for style.

No rocket propulsion.

No alt+f12

Part clipping is allowed, just be "reasonable" (This means you should be able to actually see the clipped parts.)

No boosters, either. (I'm looking at you, Jeb.)

Use only jet propulsion. (sorry. I meant atmospheric propulsion...)

Post a screenshot of your f3 menu, for proof of how many G's you caused to your poor kerbal.

To measure your G's, do repetitive loops and acrobatics until the G meter goes up to something you like.

The plane does NOT have to be able to land.

Finally, FAR and non-FAR entries will go in separate leaderboards.

Leaderboards:

FAR winners:

-Palker, 42g! Epic trophy!

-xxjetterxx, 38.9g. Album here: http://imgur.com/a/xAtZQ No trophy. I created the challenge, no fun if I count my entry :P

-misz, 37g. Gold trophy!

-SoldierHair, 20.5g. Silver trophy!

Stock winners:

-Right, 23g! on stock!

-PanzerKnocf, 15g. Gold trophy!

-Kenobi mccormick, 13g. Silver trophy trophy!

Strange winners:

-I.T. Marcus, stock. 19g, strange, it looks like an infiniglider, maybe send in a video...

Here my submission it is not an infiniglider as some people may assume... in fact you can't get speed by flapping the wings.... but it gets to Mach I by using gravity! So I present to you: The Gravity Assisted Glider 19.7G's!

My jet engine got ripped off while doing the turn... does that count still?

Huh. Let's see what my six engine heavy bomber can pull. I've pegged the G-meter pretty hard in that thing before. Ripped a wing off entirely in FAR once.

Edit: Huh. 13Gs exactly. In something the size of a small cathedral. With six Merlins on it...Right! Screenshots.

And safely landed with 13Gs logged.

F3 after G force caused explosion. My first and the best attempt could not get anywhere near after that.

The plane can generate instant g forces of such magnitude that it explodes completely with only the B9 wheel surviving it is quite amusing to watch. It is also very hard to control and i doubt anyone could land with or get more than fe Km from space centre without it exploding

I managed to get 37.1G without the plane exploding. According to the Steam Gauges HUD it was way more, but anyway, F3 says 37.1G.

Here's the video for the proofs!, It's a bit long (6mins), but didnt have time to edit it. It has all the attemps in one flight.

5:27 is the F3 screen showing 37.1G!!
