I have updated the board, and that is an AWSOME truck sirjoab :D

Also, simply amazing video sasquatch. I hope you don't mind, I added a minute to your total time and I'll use that as your qualifying time ok?

Kingtj44, maybe we could merge this with my Formula K idea. I had a thread which was quite successful but the rules were buggy.

I can also design tracks for you, and we can add a second category to the racing.

Sound good?

The K-Series 477 RaceMaster by K-Speed Manufacturers...

This is my serious entry, not just an example car like I did at the beginning of this challenge, so prepare for a new time to beat everyone because this car is not only fast at 24.5 m/s top speed, but can easily do all corners at top speed. :cool: There were no pit stops.

I just did a test run with one of my Formula K cars, had to empty the RCS tank for it.

No pictures because it's not official.

I got 8:28.

Top recorded speed: 29.1m/s, run under FAR, has 4 small control surfaces, set to Inactive.

Also I took the best possible line through all the corners, 95% of the lap I was above 25m/s.

Wow that is a fast car. I have yet to design something with that kind of ability. Just make sure you are doing all the rules + all 10 laps but other than that it seems you could easily take the #1 spot from everyone :D

Well, As Kyrian still hasn't posted his alleged car yet, I present you the first car under 9:00

The Solitor Vectrix, it did the challenge in 8:57, no pitstops were required and it was able to exceed 25 m/s on several occasions. It can sustain 24.8-24.9 m/s.

I think I could probably shave several seconds off that time, as at one point I had to slow down to teens of m/s because I went over the edge on a turn.

I happen to have FAR, but I would not consider this to be of any consequence, considering the speeds are too low and the vehicle too powerful and dense for it to matter. Plus, non-FAR people may accidentally make an infiniglide-booster as their spoiler.

I used a wobble technique to generate speed, but I'd assume pretty much everyone who gets under 11 minutes or so does that.

Notice the consistency of the lap times, they are all 0:53 except for the first (due to acceleration needing to occur) and the 7th (due to going over an edge.)

Estimated range: 29.9 km (Racetrack), 31.5 km (Drag-race), 34 km (18 m/s)

Weight: 2770 kg (empty), 2860 kg (with driver)

Top speed: 24.9 m/s (sustained during course), 25.2 m/s (highest observed on a flat, nearly sustainable during drag racing), 31 m/s... UP a steep hill on the edge of the KSC Greens. Torque curves be damned.

Weight balance: 49.2F-50.8R (empty), 50.0F-50.0R (with driver).

My First Open-wheel design... The K-II 447 Prototype Racer by K-Speed manufacturers

Only a little bit faster than my last design, at 24.7 m/s top speed, but it could take corners with absolutely no rolling, so it usually accelerated to 26 m/s + on the corners and thus, most of the race it was at about 25.5 m/s. So in summary, it was the car's stability which got it such a fast time. Also if you are wondering, there is indeed a headlight at the very tip of the nose of the cockpit. :wink: No pit stops were needed.

SasquatchM I'm sorry but I must ask you to please do the race over again without the RCS on your supercar, since RCS is not allowed to help in the movement of your car and I see the RCS assisting you on your turns.

Well, ****. The sad thing is they actually don't do much of anything. You can see they run out at the half way point.

Hmmm, true. I'll let you have that race as your official time but please avoid RCS in the future ok? :)
