Kerbin Orbit (un)interest

I played the game for a while, and found disappointing the fact that the kerbin orbit is pretty uninteresting in the game career mode. Building and orbiting a satellite is currently useless, and a space station difficult and useless.

There are some suggestions:

* Communication satellites: they could improve the science collected from data transmission, making an interest to build and orbit automatic probes around Kerbin and other bodies.

* Collecting science over time in the station module while they are inhabited (e.g. +10science/30d in orbit around kerbin), plus eventually a bonus if laboratory modules are connected to the station. I know that in the current version, without any life support or damage over time, it is pretty easy to keep a bunch of kerbonauts in orbit for an infinite amout of time, but it could make some interest in the future, and will make worthy to buid and orbit at least one station in the career mode.

You're right, until biome scanning-ish things (like IR cameras, or the like) are implemented, there's no point making a satellite only for orbiting Kerbin, as the small amount of science you can get (300 to 500 points from experiments maybe? I'm not sure).
