fenya
rescue vehicle v4initially the truck was equipped with propulsion system, but this idea was abandoned because it is great chance to damage it. Therefore the rescue complex will consist of shuttle and rover.at the moment the car can withstand a drop from 120 meter height, I want to increase it to 200 meters and to prevent damage to wheels

Mad Rocket Scientist
Energia core done. Anyone have ideas for engines? After doing a quick search, I think the S3 KS-25x4 cluster for the core, and the rapier for the boosters (Or maybe the LV-45). Zucal
Awesome launch clamps:Those are really cool! After doing a quick search, I think the S3 KS-25x4 cluster for the core, and the rapier for the boosters (Or maybe the LV-45).Thanks, but one S3 ain't gonna lift 900 tons. I went with 4 KR-2Ls. 7000 Dv, it's a single-stage-to-Kerbin-escape, and that's without the boosters...
Yukon0009
@Zucal Mine barely is up to the task (It's 5m diameter) with 4 KR-2Ls and an extra engine used to balance it (Does it okay)
sgt_flyer
You know, you can 'separate' from the fuel flow (non fuel crossfeed parts are useful for that) and empty some of those fuel tanks if you wish to limit the amounts of thrust needed Also, soyuz launch clamps only needs gravity to separate (hence why there's counterweights on them)One final advice soyuz core stage has varying diameters it's diameter is actually smaller than the boosters on almost all the boosters height, then expands to slightly wider than the upper stage, before going back to the upper stage diameter.I can only advice, when trying to make replicas, to search farther than just wikipedia there's plenty of infos on those rockets
Zucal
Yukon, can you post some pics of your Energia? Specifically the boosters? I finally got my core to work, and I'm out of ideas and inspiration for the liquid boosters. If you want to wait till release that's fine, I might seek help in the OKB-1 thread. Once you touch ground, your Kerbals are going straight to their coffins.http://imgur.com/a/rTM5aThat's amazing! I know exactly what you mean about landing something like that. Those Mk3 passenger modules stick together weakly and if you build anything large with them they don't like landings. They need to fix this. How do I know? Well...Javascript is disabled. View full albumI had to put struts everywhere to hold it together. It will glide and land on the runway with a max vertical speed of -15 m/s and that's with the compressible landing gear setup. :/
