Redshift OTF
Made this for a laugh.Javascript is disabled. View full albumIt flies but tends to go out of control eventually. Weighs about 262 tons. What I found interesting though is that I made another craft of the same weight, added 16 Aerospikes to it and Mechjeb said the STWR was 0.95. If that's correct then this method of lifting objects is more powerful than using direct engine thrust. I will have to do more testing...- - - Updated - - -Edit: Rune, considering what you said perhaps rockets with wings get more height than rockets alone for the same DeltaV. Perhaps you should add some wings to your SSTO rocket and see if the theory is correct.
Bubbadevlin
Holy crap that is dam near amazing.... too bad it has to be so freaking gigantic
Redshift OTF
Doesn't have to be that big. This little one flies pretty good.
Bubbadevlin
Even that is like 10m wide , i just mean imagine if you could fit something like that, into say a mk3 cargo bay
Redshift OTF
Maybe if you used ant engines perhaps. The trick is to give decent lift or thrust with the lightest setup possible. The turbines are definitely producing more thrust than engines alone. I tested another version of the turbine above with 16 Spark engines. They should only have a SLT of 1 at about 26 tons but the turbine I made with 16 Spark engines can lift 32 tons vertically.I guess the lift to drag ratio must be out. Must be why that guy could make an Eve SSTO work if he was angled about the same as my optimal blade configuration.
YargJay9991
Oh, I see how it is. Trying to siphon some glory off my Fokker Dr.I, are you? Well, you might just do it, the fuselage looks closer to the shape of the Fokker than mine does.Hey man, I know it may seem like that. But I had absolutely no intention of siphoning glory off of yours. ATM yours is more practical, mostly because it can actually fly for longer than 45 secs. Also, this has been in production for about a month now and I had no idea you were building one as well. We just happened to show off both of our craft close together. Hope you understand One of the reasons your's got onto my SCF, was because I was building one, and I thought yours looked cool and practical! Jetenginestar
It's taking shape, but the question is, will it fly?Update: nope.--- A Few Tries Later -----My calculations worked! (48 Fat main wings) These has more wing-flex than a 787! Edited October 9, 2015 by Jetenginestar
Columbia
It's taking shape, but the question is, will it fly?http://i.imgur.com/Bec8wHk.pngUpdate: nope.http://i.imgur.com/LakQSpj.pngEven from the shadow, it looks glorious.Anyway, with the new wings, I rebuilt my own MD-11 from the B777's airframe, and it now looks pretty much the same with Jetenginestar's.. and it's a wee bit too maneuverable. Columbia
So I tried to land a B777, with a bit of a twist: The aircraft doesn't have a nose gear. I blew it off mid-flight with the Kaboom! mod.
Kryten 2X4B 523P
I'm not much of a designer when it comes to aircraft - quite pleased with this though.Managed to squeeze just over 1,100 m/s out of it at around 1000m - then it exploded due to overheating :-) Handles nicely at low and high speeds, and I can actually land it on the runway, so it must be easy to fly! FlipNascar
Redid the [main] wings on my lil birdie.Yes it's supposed to be a shadow picture It highlights the feather-effect.I'll have to redo the tail now, because it looks so freaking pony compared to the wings. Still got Klaws for talons, I'm determined to klaw something eventually.

Fellow314
So, the difficulty is in finding a launch profile that allows craft A enough time to reach orbit while also allowing time to switch to craft B and land it and, on top of that, ensuring craft B is somewhere near land. ghostbuzzer7
Exceeded the sound barrier with two basic jet engines. Shortly after, the engines continued to output more and more power until the craft went around 500 meters per second and spontaneously exploded. The entire craft blew up instantly it wasn't a normal "Oh look a wing broke off and then stuff breaks" NOOO it was boom everything gone in mid flight. Camera shook, kerbin dissappeared, game crashed (typical) and the kraken took over the save file Moments before the horror ooh and you can also see how random parts are missing after I passed mach 1! THIS GAME THOUGH!
ghostbuzzer7
"War is not something to be looked upon as bloody, but rather the thought of protecting the homeland. The Battle of Stalingrad was the last city the Russians had to fend off the Germans before they invaded the capital. Let war be known for our safety, if one country turns to evil, it is within our duty to straighten out those who turn against us to keep this small world together. Without war, there will be an ceaseless outbreaks and confusion, humans will inevitably have fallen themselves. The city itself has little to no strategic value, and is in fact very, very far away from Moscow.Nice render though.
Monsterlunch
My attempt at a SSTEEEAT (Single Stage To Everywhere Except Eve And Tylo) is going well, though this thing will have to undergo some major improvements before official release! Special thanks go to all those people who helped me figure out how to exploit adapt to the new aerodynamics and optimize the resource harvesting process in SSTEEAT crafts! Also, flying across the surface of minimus at 440m/s is quite an exciting thing to do.

hellblazer
After landing on the moon today. I will be modifying my lander to deliver a small payload to the surface (rover). Combination of IR, KIS and KAS.This was my first attempt on landing in RSS/RO (used a few non RO parts) O well.
