Kerbco Mission Reports: Update! VASIMR power to Ike and back

This is where I'll be posting some mission reports. Currently I'm in late career mode. Part mods I use are KAS, Near Future Propulsion, Porkjet's Habs, a small part of of B9, and maybe a few misc others.

Minmus Kethane Base

Seeing as I had kethane and KAS installed, I decided to actually use them for once, and experience the joys of running a base. Minmus seemed like the obvious location for it, so I started developing the modules and vehicles.

I snatched Bob from the Astronaut lounge, stuck some Commander stripes on his suit, and told him his next assignment would be overseeing the base.

Ultimately the base proved a bit overbuilt, I didn't need the reactor, and I only ever used one rover-load of Kethane for refueling purposes. After they had been up there for about 2 months, I brought the crew home, and decomissioned the base because I was uninstalling Kethane.

KTS Ulysses: VASIMR power to Ike and back

Next up, I decided to send a mission to Ike. While my Kerbals have already been to Duna, a few of the KSC eggheads have come up with some interesting theories about Ike's composition, and want some samples.

This might be my favorite mission I've done recently. Near Future Propulsion features pretty heavily in it, as well as Porkjet's habitat ring.

The Ulysses performed well, I'll definitely have to reuse it for missions to Jool. For now, it'll switch to standby mode and remain in Kerbin orbit.

Meanwhile... I have a more impressive craft in the works.
