Dimetime35c
Am I the only one that thinks it would be kinda cool to have weather effects in the game? Like rain, snow, wind that kinda thing? It would be cool launching in a snow storm or trying to land your space plane during a sever thunderstorm. Madrias
It's a cool idea, but it's impossible to see anything during the night, let alone through part of the day when the sun's not shining just right on your craft. Now add clouds, rain, snow, and storms, and you've made a mess out of landings.Plus, most people wouldn't see the weather other than maybe for 10 minutes because they're flying rockets. I'd see the weather the whole way up for an hour trying to get an SSTO into orbit through a thunderstorm. It'd have to be something that'd be toggleable, because some would love it, others would hate it. I_Killed_Jeb
it would be incredible, and i think it's something they want to implement in the future
vetrox
I would love to aerobrake low into jools atmosphere and see some crazy storms.
MajorThomas
Adding weather effects (wind, clouds, etc.) at low to mid atmosphere seems easier to implement than, say, roads/cities/etc. Could add a twist to your career mode, such as: You have a launch window, but it's freezing at KSC and it might make your rocket explode unexpectedly... FellipeC
If that don't mean that my game will be much more slower, I would love
Mobjack
Imagine building a large 1000 ton rocket barely held together with 500 struts then a gust of wind comes.
Biker Joe
Been thinking about this myself actually, be cool to go through clouds and/or end up in a thunderstorm or your landing be affected by winds and bow you off course...
Javster
Very good idea, especially if there's a weather forecast whose accuracy can be improved with science or weather sats!!!
KN_Namida
Weather effects would surely look amazing, and if implemented correctly I think they'd add a nice twist to the gameplay. Not so much for a capsule landing on Kerbin but, say, launching a rocket with some wind at KSC, or finding yourself in a thick fog while testing a rover of yours somewhere on Kerbin...Or managing a base on Duna while a sandstorm approaches, and you'd have to close all your panels and antennae or else they might be knocked off by the gusts of wind...I mean, these are basic ideas, and I have no clue wether or not we're gonna see any of this in the future (though I'd really like to). But it really would make KSP a lot more interesting
vexx32
Weather is one of the many things listed on the [thread=36863]What Not to Suggest List[/thread]. Please take the time to read over it before submitting further suggestions. Weather is, as you might imagine, a fairly common request. It does not really need to be brought up time and time again.Let's bring this to a close, shall we?
