just wanted to show off my minmus mining base

I never used or needed MechJeb. My landers have an overly amount of fuel at their disposal. Having made more manual landings than I can count (most harder than others :) ). I can usually land a km or 2 from my target. Then make a short hop or 2 until I get within 100m.

I have to admit I use mechjeb for my landings but not the autopilot - I use manoeuvre nodes to put my landing as close as possible then use the navball to get me more or less above the base - I then use mechjeb's translatron to get some fine controls so I can set my descent to zero and then use my rcs to move myself in the right place then set translatron to -0.2 and drop in slowly. If I could use shift and ctrl more finely then I wouldn't need it and be able to adjust my thrust so I can glide down better (perhaps it should switch to feather control when you put the caps lock on). Oh and I also use mechjeb for the real hight from the ground - none of this sea level stuff - didn't Apollo 11 et al have radar after all??

It would be nice if squad added an altitude Radar/Sealevel toggle like the orbit/surface/target on the navball. I constantly switch back & forth from 3rd person to cockpit view until about 1k to impact... I mean touchdown. In 3rd person a mk1 HI light pointed down to gauge the distance plus makes night landings less stressful.

Without my tanker, didnt get to play KSP today, but still - havent unlocked the big parts yet, as since the drills wont pump Kethane without me watching, I saw no reason for big tanks, will just fill it into the tanker directly. Some one even left the fuel line lying at the ready!

Don't you just hate it when your kerbals leave stuff lying around. While constructing mine I had containers and attachments left all over the landscape - just switching from one to the other when changing ships was a nightmare! lol
