Nah, I'll make up a name. Dave. I like.

Any news on your car? I'm experimenting with a low-drag, high-downforce car. All I can reveal is that the RCS tank is RIGHT behind the driver, and that the car has a real nose and a false nose, because without the false one, it just looks terrible.

You?

Mine is still just like a big go kart, lots of drag, trying to tweak things, also how to fit in the RCS, so no worries :P

Nah, I'll have Kamui Kerman, I like him too.

I haven't cleared mine for crashes yet, but I've done 55km of testing, and it's very responsive and pretty good in a straight line. Veers a little though. Teaser pic later, and all cars must be released after 6pm on the 7th of Feb, AEST.

In short, release your car in 26 hours from this post. Testing is allowed until then.

Welcome to the KSP Forums, Blaze! Glad you could join us here too :) Read the regulations for the vehicles and try designing the car around that. Good luck!

Edit for GROOV3ST3R: KERS near empty but on, full throttle, 27.9m/s.

May I ask what failed in the crash test? If the front wing broke off, that's fine, but if your Kerbal came out of his seat then I suggest a re-design.

Try strengthening the driver's area. If you have Firespitter, use the small wire struts.

The TR-2L is in my opinion the superior wheel - it has much better traction and requires a sturdier, lower design to keep the craft from flipping over.

However, I noticed that it also likes to artificially speed up my crafts in corners when I rapidly steer left-to-right-to-left etc. Don't know if that's due to some other game bug or if it's a purely wheel based thing but it used to happen in my old BOXX-CART.

That said, I think I can come up with something that will be a winner this time round as well ^

Blaze 9X, I see your RCS tank. Genius.

Also, it's not that ugly. Google: Toro Rosso STR9, then you'll see what ugly is.

And the imgur album works, don't worry about that! Good luck!

CaptainGiblets, I'm excited! Can't wait!

[EDIT] I've been looking at our two cars and I can't help but notice the huge design difference. I guess you've gone for a low CoM, mid CoL and good driver protection, whereas I've gone for a low-mid CoM, low CoL and as light as possible while still keeping Dave safe.

That RCS tank - it looks good as a counterweight but it's horrible for your aerodynamics. + if you use up your RCS, you lose the balance advantage. Might want to rethink that and slam the entire car closer to the ground instead.
