CaptainGiblets
Performs fine for me, just have too keep it in two wheel steering, pretty quick for it's weight and the new rules I thinkHow does it perform? ^^
GROOV3ST3R
Well, it might make me rethink my own design, since all i see here are very compact and light crafts and mine is rather... large. We shall see.
NQMT
I can't seem to spot your RCS tank at all, do you have one?I like the name I hope you're not too much trouble for me to win the maiden title. Good luck, and good luck to all others too! Edited February 8, 2014 by Kyrian
CaptainGiblets
The driver sits on it, so it's hard to see, i'll find a different picture of the whole car Edit: found a pic:)I can't seem to spot your RCS tank at all, do you have one?I like the name I hope you're not too much trouble for me to win the maiden title. Blaze 9X
GROOV3ST3R- Yea... I didn't think that one completely through. It does flip if I'm not careful though. I tried to make the width larger to help with that issue. Also I completely forgot how FAR aerodynamics works when I put the RCS tank on. :/Kyrian- How did you measure the top speed? Did you measure it on a track or going straight down the runway? Also, am I able to do a slight redesign?
NQMT
Blaze 9X - Race 1 hasn't opened yet. Do what you like, redesign the whole thing if you need to. Between races, the only modification you can make is re-angling the wings and choosing a different amount of RCS in your tank. Also, I use the runway. I hold down W and see where I end up. burnoutforzai
I think I'll enter into this with the FORMULAR K - light v2.0, weighs 1.3 [ish] tons fully loaded and has an action group to change from front steering to all wheel steering. Here it is; http://imgur.com/a/seon2#0.Also do I have to put a craft file on the post?[edit] That was the 2.0 version and there is a newer and stronger fk car; the v2.5.1 Edited February 9, 2014 by burnoutforzai
randomness5555
I shall enter with this, the BWRC T2 G1 M1, It weighs approx 1.2 tons and uses the two rcs's to boost it's speed. It's pretty well balanced as well. Can we expect to get any tracks soon, and also will they all be around the KSC?
NQMT
randomness5555, your car is in violation of the Aerodynamics: 1 and 1.1 rules. Your rear wing is not permitted to be a Large Control Surface. Also, the first race will be in 2 days. All tracks are around the KSC, if you don't have the mod pack yet, please get it. Link is in the OP. Please change the rear wing before then.burnoutforzai, please show a screenshot of the updated vehicle as well.Good luck to everyone!- Kyrian
GROOV3ST3R
The (hopefully) long awaited teaser of my new craft is finally here. I have gone through all different kinds of concepts before going back to the roots - and I mean way back. This, isn't it - this is my old submission for the previous season:This is what it has evolved into, following the championship - reborn as an exploration rover/utility vehicle:And this is a Teaser of my newest incarnation:Evolution of a vehicle I was planning to submit a gigantic radish-shaped racecar but it just didn't have the maneuverability or the acceleration I wanted. I went through all kinds of crazy crafts until I came full circle back to these. And it seems to have worked.
NQMT
I must say, it's quite pretty. You don't need the lights, they create drag so I think it'd be wise to remove them.

GROOV3ST3R
Fair enough, I thought it would be good to have a Dakar-Lighting Option in. For fun, I am testing it with 2 large control surfaces. It looks even better if I'm honest. What would it take for you to reconsider the rules and allow adding a large surface on the back as well as the front OR splitting them into equivalent amount of small control surfaces? NQMT
I'm not a big fan of the large rear wing. I prefer a small rear and a slightly wider front, hence the use of two, spaced apart at the front and clipped together at the rear. Next season there'll be a Monaco-esque circuit where you will be permitted to use a large rear and 1 more small at the front and back, for maximum downforce.[Edit] I see sidepods, DisarmingBaton5! Nice!

Frafor
I would really like to participate but I have no experience with the Ferram Aerospace so is going to take me some time to desing a car. When do races start?
NQMT
I was going to make races start tomorrow, but seeing as you need some time to prepare a car, I'll open Race 1 on Thursday. Does that sound good? Hope you like the challenge, Frafor!- Kyrian
Frafor
Thanks!, it sounds great to me. I will try to show the car for "homologation" before Tuesday.
GROOV3ST3R
Well, I believe my craft is now as good as it can be. I might adjust the ride height a little later on, but that is only if it keeps disintegrating at random - which I assure you it doesn't do nearly often enough to pose a major threat to the safety of my Kerbals.BOXX-CART UT-i7 SPORTFormerly UT6 SPORT, redesigned for lightness and minimal drag.Dry weight: 915 kg (that's right, I shaved off 815 kg off the total weight)Total weight: 1115 kgFeatures:- Roll cage with integrated crumple zones- Ultralight spaceframe- Low centre of gravity- Devilishly good looking ^^Team name: GRAVO-ELITEDriver: Camrod Kerman (I thought he had a very fitting name for a racing driver, as well as insane levels of courage and balanced stupidity - perfect)Pics: Edited February 11, 2014 by GROOV3ST3R

Also the weight is wrong, that 1.2 tons was the older version. This one's about 2 tons.
randomness5555
Okay, here's the modified one. It now weighs EVEN MORE but is much safer than the last one. The large surface has been split into two smaller ones (as the rules allow two up front and two up back it now qualifies... I think)
Frafor
So, it took me some hours of trial and error but I managed to finish this car. I might make some changes to the angle of the wings but this should be the final version.Team Name: SouthPolar Racing TeamCar: SP05Dry Weight: 1.48tTop Speed: 30 m/s with RCS, 21 m/s without RCSDriver: Kirk KermanJust one question, the car must be driven in docking mode only or it can be driven in staging? NQMT
randomness5555, it qualifies. Very nice!Frafor: 1. You can change the angle of the wings as often as you want, but only in the SPH. You aren't permitted to do it on track.2. If you want your RCS to actually work, use Docking Mode. Also, I find it helps that if you accidentally hit space, nothing comes flying off - Kyrian
