KRF Formula K World Championship

donfede, you can still join. Race 1 is still open.

KMP was an idea, but the main problem is time zones. Not everyone would be able to make it with KMP, so an easier solution was decided - PersistentTrails.

Since you've joined us in the midst of next season's discussions as well, that puts you to a great advantage.

Hope you can join us either now or next season :)

As a suggestion for next season, I like the idea of 3 chassis and refuelling trucks. A problem is that by limiting RCS and cubic struts cars will be a lot slower (at least in straight line) so you should add something that makes them faster in some way. Maybe rising the max aerodynamic surfaces so the cars turn faster or use the other medium size wheels for more traction.

Btw, when does the race 1 closes?

A race's closure and the following race's opening will coincide with each other, which I'll usually make to be every 14 days. Either that or 3 weeks after the race was opened, which will happen in the case of every Race 1, to allow for more people to enter if they're interested beforehand.

Also: I might have a restriction on axle width, but not on length. There will be a minimum length, however, to avoid ugly cars.

The downforce of the vehicles next season will be extended to 3 of any kind on the nose; e.g. 1 large and 2 small, 3 small etc, and on the rear I will allow 4 small surfaces.

I've had a suggestion PMed to me by GROOV3ST3R about having an edited wheel part, which will be only allowed on the rear wheels. It should have a bit more power, but that will lead to a) a higher electricity consumption rate and B) a heavier wheel.

I'll think of more things, but until then I still need to enter Race 1...

[EDIT] If everyone's alright with B9 then I might add the ability to have 1 air intake and 2 R1A Compressed Air Nozzles next season, plus the RCS. To use the RCS you'll need to set the ports' toggle on/off to an action group. Don't worry about that.

B9's Compressed Air nozzles use the air from the intake as a regenerative source of propulsion. Think of it as like a turbocharger.

Also: KR-02 chassis homologated. A bit too much, though.

Issue with B9 is I don't think we would be able to include BAC's parts into our package - I have spoken with him about a similar concept and he said that he'd prefer to keep those parts standalone.

B9 pack itself weighs 100 megabytes and when you install it, it will flood your KSP with 200 parts you won't need or won't even be allowed to use. I think it would be better to stick to regular RCS - they provide a good balance between power and usability.

Next season will however bring a lot of other changes and enhancements to the entry package - watch this space ^^

Well Here's the v2.5.1 at speed.

http://imgur.com/a/seon2#0

It can reach blinding speeds (up to 45m/s on rcs and 23 on electric power alone) and has a toggleable rear stearing which is brilliant for the hairpin bends.

Team: burnout

Name: Speed-Bringer

Weight: more than 1.1 tons

Speed: 45m/s (100mph)

Cornering: Rolls quite a bit... but hey it has a cool rear stearing feature.

Yeah... So see you on the track. (I may need to do it this weekend if that's not to bad for you)

burnoutforzai: you still have two and a half weeks to enter the race. No rush at all.

Spartwo: we're thinking of adding two different categories (rally included) but they won't be in the same thread. I can't manage Formula K and Rally and the other secret category all in one place, the lap times for Formula K and Project T can't go on the same page.

TL;DR, there will be rally, but not here.

GROOV3ST3R, that's a shame. Also, I was thinking we may be able to ask bac9 if we can use just the compressed air nozzle instead of the whole pack.

I think 23 is terminal rover velocity.

Jebediah begs to differ: 184m/s (OK it's a rocket powered missile with wheels that has a turning curve measured in astronomical units... although, the B9 landing gear does have a motor *and* a steer option!)

NeoX GP:

2 second penalty for going off

Final time 1:58

No 2 second penalty for you. You went wide, which doesn't give you any advantage. If you cut a corner, then it's a 2 second penalty. 1:56 it is for you then.

No, you can only start from a standstill. Also, you need to make your lap picture more visible - I can't make out whether or not you actually cut any of the corners.

EDIT:

I just realised, that - rather embarrasingly - me and Kyrian are leading... in our own championship xD That can't be good for publicity.

Come on people, step it up ^^
