Found this game the other day, been playing it like an addict ever since!

Kind of avoiding the forums, pretty much all the fun of this game for me has been figuring stuff out.

just getting to space was a challenge at first! bit by bit I learned and got better. space, orbit, munar orbit, ect

now to land on the Mun without losing my engine so I can return home!

this game in its current state has been more fun then me then many AAA games combined!

I just kind of wish i hadn\'t found it yet so i could have gotten the full completed experience :P

But oh well, i will keep enjoying this game for some time to come i\'m sure :)

Just one quick question - is there something you can do to easily identify the TOP of your vessel?

died many times to thinking my ship was upright when it was upside down :/

Hey there.

You see that ball at the bottom of your screen when you\'re in Launch? It will roll around when you tilt. There is a marker to show you the centre of that ball. Now, here\'s the important part. Imagine the ball is staying exactly still, like it has a gyroscope in it. The ball isn\'t moving, but the control panel is.

The point being, if the centre marker is on blue, you\'re going up. If its on red, you\'re going down. All those markings on the ball tell you what angle you\'re going up/down/to-the-side at.

Hope this helps -

i know that, but thats all relative to the ground, not the camera. i need more of a visual cue on the ship.

I put a single brace from the nose to the back of the top winglet, it helps. (even if it does throw off balance a teensy bit)

Nice to see an actual response though, and not another copy paste bot post lol. thanks.

Bots are kind of demeaning of a welcome from my prespective sice it lacks the actual effort to say a simple 'Hello!' or of equal if not more meaning, but whatever.

(Posts in this forum section don\'t count anyway ;) )

Anyway, another welcome to you. ;)

If the question asked needs a moderators reply, I will answer it. If not, I let someone from our helpful group of members answer it.

As a moderator, I like to make sure everyone gets a reply to their welcome to show the moderators are here and active and not just some faceless group of people hiding in the shadows. I use the same greeting every time for consistency and lack of bias as moderators are supposed to be impartial.

As for the others that have taken to parroting my greet, well, they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so I must be doing something right.

Also, posts count here.

Cheers!

Well in the way you put it I guess it is kind of your only option then, ignore my previous post.

However if you are letting your fingers go, feel free to work them out from time to time, work them to the bone. In fact, when the next big viral video comes out, I dare you to welcome everybody the entire day -without bots. 8)

It may help to rotate the camera and ship around until the horizon on the nav ball agrees with the horizon the camera sees.

...

but then once you need to maneuver the rocket again, you have to turn the camera, and then you are screwed, right? Not a big problem for me, all I do is stare at the navaid during most of the flight.

wow this thread has picked up a bit.

I have completed several moon landings now :P

it helped a bit after I looked at the controls and found that the RCS jets could be used to control directions as well as rotation....

Now I\'m starting to make attempts to leave an object in orbit around the moon as I land, then go back up to space and push it back to earth.

il just have to keep a calculator handy to get the timing right on the hook up :P

Just remember, Jeb is into rocket piloting, Bill doesn\'t care and smiles when the engine activity stops and Bob only smiles when he is back on Kerbin, the rest of the time he is sitting in there screaming the other guys\' ears out.

my only issue is how painful it is to add parts, because it likes to reset the stages, or at least move some items around.

so everytime i want to make a change i have to re-stage my whole rocket or im likely to blow up before leaving the pad

im guessing this is a well known bug though, any way around it?

v0.13.2 introduced a bug in the staging. Your best bet is to build your rocket, hit the reset stage button, setup your staging, then save and reload the ship. If you change anything, you\'ll probably need to reset and re-stage again. An unfortunate bug, but thems the breaks when you are dealing with alpha software.

Arrr!
