Don't know how to do interplanetary burns from orbit of Kerbin

Recommended Posts

This should probably go in Gameplay Questions, but anyway. Need a little more information, like where you are going, maybe a ship design. But I will tackle what I've got. In order to perform an interplanetary burn from Kerbin you want to burn either Prograde (If you are going to a planet that is further out than kerbin) or Retrograde (For a planet closer in) relative to Kerbins orbit. Now, generally speaking it works just like any other burn to get anywhere else, it just takes longer. I'm also a tad confused as to why you are asking such a question when you have ribbons saying you've been to a large majority of the planets in the Kerbol system.

Ok, i've been doing interplanetary burns from solar orbit, that's what allows me to go to other planets.

Ah, ok. Well the process is the same as it is if you are in a solar orbit, but you are making use of the Oberth Effect by burning closer to Kerbin, basically think of it as your initial solar orbit is the same as that of Kerbin and burn in the direction as appropriate.
