final release and pack question

Okay I'm a bit confused. When KSP does finally go for the release of version 1.0 and is released will we have to buy the game again or sense we bought it in alpha/beta we will not have to pay? Also I've seen some people on other threads talking about a NASA pack. Does this exsist and if so what is it exactly. I don't keep up with KSP dev news and I'm not sure were to even find that info at.

The info can be found on the dev blog. Every tuesday there is a post that updates on last week's development efforts. All the blog posts are also replicated here on the forums.

So basically... you were required to click the "Forum" button and just look at what you see - that would have been enough to find it :P

When 1.0 releases you won't have to pay again to get the game (or any update). Expansion packs are a different story, those are free to people who bought the game before a certain date, by memory I say May 1st 2013, but don't quote me on that. The NASA pack is a 'mod' that will be released by Squad for free somewhere after 0.24.

For the other part of your question:

By purchasing Kerbal Space Program, you are entitled to the following:

- Access to the software in its current state.

- Access to all updates for the software.

By 'updates' we mean software updates including content, features and bugfixes, released as a new version for the same title, before or after the official ("1.0") release of the software.

If you've purchased KSP before May 1st, 2013, you are entitled to the above, plus any Expansion Packs released for KSP.

By 'Expansion Packs' we mean software released as a separate title, but that requires and ties into the original KSP software to expand the game by adding content, features and bugfixes.

Regardless of purchase date, your purchase of KSP does not entitle you to the following:

Other "Kerbal" titles, such as sequels, prequels or any other works based on KSP or any subset of the KSP IP, even those that integrate with the original KSP (but do not require it).

Other titles released by Squad.

Other goods and services offered as complements to any Squad title, such as Merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, etc.), 3D printing, etc.

From here.

Edit: Ninja'd, and by a mod no less! Oh well, my response was more thorough. :)

In one of the streams, the devs said that the NASA mission pack will be incorporated into the stock game rather than as a standalone download. This probably means you will have asteroids as well as the other parts when you start a new game or port over a save (maybe as of 0.24), and the "avert asteroid collision" mission will be a scenario.

The devlogs suggest the NASA pack development has become a full-time job, so 0.24 is going to be gigantic. They aren't even in the feature-lock phase or Quality Assurance phase yet.

Okay so I asked earlier if we will have to rebuy the game once it goes 1.0. I can't find info on weather those who bought it through steam will have to. I bought through steam so I'm not sure if there policy is different then if I bought it directly.
