Bob climbed and climbed on the invisible ladder above 10K, until he was too tired to continue but wondered, "Where did this ladder eventually lead".

I really regret not making a hard save at this point. Could I have climbed to another orbital body if the ladder lined up? Would adjusting the position of the rover changed the ladder's inclination?

I had the same thing when I crashed my SSTO into one of Kerbin's oceans. One kerbal just kept climbing deeper and deeper, despite any attempt to stop him...

I eventually reverted to the launch pad
