  1. It has been a few years since I have posted in here and I am playing my first stock play-through of "Making History". Throwing a lot of iron into orbit is fun and an object of pride but sometimes you have contracts to fulfill and comms to set up. I was really proud of Twitchy's three polar orbit performances: Two High Altitude Kerbin barometric readings. Four high/low altitude Mun temperature readings. Twitch engine test on Mun escape. Sepratron Test orbiting Minimus Four high/low altitude Minimus temperature readings. And finally but most important, a soon to be needed Comms link in a Polar orbit of Minimus. / delta-v is set to sea level polar orbit Kerbin transfer to polar orbit Mun transfer to Polar orbit Minimus
  2. For Those HIGH GEE Adventures, take the red pill or the blue pill. Tilt a Whirl
  3. Everyone likes a stock Mun lander... long range and accurate.
  4. It has been a long time since I posted in here, so how about one from a new career.
  5. Woohoo! Welcome to the Kerbal Docking Club, tis a big step in the game, Congrats
  6. In my current Career, I am naming long living ships after birds. The naming of a ship depends on the design and whim at the time, For example a small quick craft with purplish lighting may be named after a humming bird like the violet ear. Scanners and telescope equipped ships are named after owls.... Some ships that are not visited often I often add the remaining delta v to their title. .
  7. I experienced this issue also, I have not investigated as I am currently playing a stock game.
  8. r sync errors are generally file permission errors Questions like this need more info on platform
  9. My first successful landing on the North Pole
  10. Let's see your rescue craft. This is my basic low tech 2 Kerbal rescue vehicle. It flies fairly well, can rescue 2 Kerbals from 2 Low Kerbal orbits in an fairly efficient manner. Usually less than 4 hours Kerbal time from lift off to landing all for under &K per Found soul. Highlights Pink Lights! Stability Enhancers for those long wait times on the pad. Kerbals enter directly into the crew cabin.
  11. A large percentage of people who use mods do this. It is the smart thing to do. My stock steam game gets auto updated my modded games are separate instance. This prevents an update for the game from interfering with your mods.
  12. Or many players mod KSP. Achievements are not recorded on a modded game.
  13. I posted this in another thread but it is topical here. Pod >service bay (chutes stowed inside)< Crew cabin Fuel & engine or heat shield open the pod bay doors late in your descent when things start to wobble a bit for a bit of drag and stability I am a safety freak for my kerbals so I often have an OKTO in the service bay as well. Happy Landing!
  14. Early career I often combine tourists, no pilot, with a rescue operation. Very few tourist contracts are fulfilled without another mission in mind, pilot or no. I often use the service bay as a "tail fin" in the final moments of a re-entry if the craft is becoming unstable and prone to a flip. If it starts to get wobbly I open the doors, they seem to make nice little wings with good drag and heat resistance. Dampening your control by using the caps lock key is also useful Pod - >service bay< - cabin - heat shield Open the pod bay doors Hal
