priorities in tech tree

Honestly, you should follow the bottom of the tech tree (Unless you are trying to make it harder for yourself) This will unlock a vast majority of the science equipment. Also don't forget to Visit different biomes and such (Minmus, the Mun and Kerbin all have biomes with their own science point pools) And don't forget to do EVA's and Crew reports (You can store one crew report per biome if you do it right)

Correct, and there is no walkthrough because each player is different. Like I'm currently not unlocking the next tier until I completely unlock the previous tier.

JtPB, the above method works fairly well as far as getting what you need. General construction comes in handy in places, but Science tech is a better immediate return on investment. You can get lots more science much faster with the new instruments. General construction is better if you tend to overbuild missions. If you have launch clamps and some of the larger fuel tanks and the skipper engine, you have enough from there.

TL;DR, go science tech now, and you can fill out the rest of the tree faster. Going General construction will let you build bigger, but building bigger does not get you science any faster.

Go for braces, launch clamps, fuel lines, and oxstat solar panels as soon as possible. Don't even think of using probes until you have the Oxstat panels. Plan on recovering all flights for max science return. From there, the rest will come easy.

I had a similar issue as you, wondering..."What Next?"...and "How do I best get science to advance my tech tree?"... I found the following Tutorial/Walkthrough to be very helpful in getting me a lot more understanding of how to get science as well as helping me get to the Mun and other places. Check it out!
