The only thing congress is really doing here is sitting and listening, there's no indication yet that they'll actually go for this (which is unfortunate, I'd really like to see this happen)

However, the fact they've agreed to sit and listen is nice!

Wasn't there a similar hearing (not full house, though) for Dennis Tito's Inspiration Mars program? I'm pretty sure they said no to that, and this is practically the exact same thing.

It is basically the same, except the mission is something like 80 days longer and includes a Venus flyby on top of the Mars flyby.

Trust me, 90% of them will still be in Congress once 2021 rolls around
