You seem to be rather a big fan of that particular SRB are you by chance the author or know him

I don't think so. The SSRB is very high quality, so it would make sense that he'd rather use it.

Does this nosecone have the separation motors? I'd gladly use it if you'll take over supporting it. Could you also make the small skirt separation motors (as a single part)?

You can see them at the SRBs' base, a cluster of three, and one a bit offset. These would greatly enhance the separation effect.

Oh, and if you also made the decoupler, we'd be all set.

Out of curiosity, what was the issue? My first guess would be lack of struts, but since you said it wasn't the case, then what? The missing/outdated gimbal plugin, perhaps?

Anyway, glad you're enjoying the Shuttle. :) After so much bad luck, it turned out amazing. There's still quite a few things to be done, but even in it's current state it's very stable and fun to fly.

I was being a dumbo and put the ETC.cfg in the wrong folder.

It feels so good actually being able to land this beast after not being able to. Only thing is that when i brake, i got really scared. It looked like it was going to blow up if i didn't let go of B. (Oh and the EFT size still needs to be fixed but that's okay c:)

Sorry to have kept with the answer, I think today I'll send you a trial version, if something is not right I try to fix.

Those are separation motors? I guess it makes sense, considering the direction they are facing. I just always remembered that only the nosecone has separation motors.

Done. Dunno how it slipped past me. In other news, the new version will probably be out this weekend, containing the new SRBs with all the required outfitting. Possibly also new effects, if Nazari responds to my PM.

I love this mod. If I may I have a feedback from my testing.

I will compare preious version of CSS 5.0.1 with this new version 6.0

1/ I am missing the sound of Shuttle Main Engines from version 5.0.1. I really like it.

2/ In my opinion the particle effects of the SME from version 5.0.1 was nicer. This new effect looks a little bit cheap to me. No offense please. Still need to do some more testing.

3/ I think there was much more smoke from the SRBs in the older version. But again I have to test more.

Overall I think you are doing a great job guys. Looking forward to see the new version this weekend :)

Well, the old Shuttle used stock effects. This one, on the other hand, has ones that look a lot like on the real Shuttle. SRBs haven't changed much from the older version. As for the sounds, I can't do much about them, Squad needs to fix them on their end.

I was pleasantly surprised by the new particle effect,reminded "Orbiter 2010" :)

Sorry, RL got me bogged down again, and the SRBs had difficulties. That said, new effects and models are coming, though currently, performance is atrocious.

Btw I want to ask you. Are you considering adding this great pad smoke effect ? In this plugin it is working very very nice : http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/71835-0-23-Horizon-Aeronautics-Zenit-3SLB-v1-2-updated-3-9-14

I think it would be cool and it will add a lot of realism to the CSS plugin. As I watched a lot of videos on youtube with Shuttle launch and there was always a lot of smoke :)

We'll see. The performance problems I mentioned come from smoke (the new SRB has a very inefficient setup), so unless Piwa gets that fixed, anything that would bog the game down further is not a good idea. I will see about pad smoke, but keep in mind that the new Shuttle SRBs are an equivalent of 18 Zenits. This setup worked well with stock effect, but now it's a pretty serious drag on performance.

Hello, I really appreciate the work everybody is putting in redeveloping this beauty. Just a question: will you implement some kind of IVA soon? Even an empty shell that matches the Shuttle so we can add gauges and RPMs through Unity :)

Ledenko was going to convert a rudimentary, 2-Kerbal IVA, but went off the radar. Personal issues, when he's back, he'll do it. Unless, of course, another modeler decides to make a more detailed IVA in the meantime. In that case, RPMs will be added in the release version. I will provide necessary data to anyone willing to do it, but I'm not good enough to take on such a project myself. I'd like a detailed, 2-deck 7-Kerbal IVA, but that would require someone with a lot of time and experience.
