Got as far as unity but then... HELP ME/TUTORIAL PLZ

following this tutorial http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/25040 (which is for an older version)

I got to the part with exporting the part to a .mu , (though I had forgotten to uv wrap the thing anyways), THERE WAS NO SCRIPT TO DRAG ON TO AN OBJECT SO I COULD EXPORT,

Yes, I did import the v 0.20 unity package that allows the export, then got the 0.23 update folders..... but the scripts that are there, they are in a folder called "editor" which I couldn't drag without "this script is in the editor folder, you can not put this on a gameobject" (or something like that)...

HELP... :confused::confused::confused::confused:

your HELP... will be apreciated by this discouraged -mod newb- greatly.

I posted it here, since the tutorial section is well, in the gameplay category, and this is the closest place after that.

this should be moved to a different thread.

well, this is a thread, so that's technically not possible.

if you mean different sub-forum (which you obviously do), then the obvious choices were : general-gameplay question- tutorials ....or.... addons-addon development..

this is not a GAMEPLAY thread, so why should it be moved to gameplay tutorial ?

it is about addon development, there simply isn't a tutorial section in there.

Click on the parent GameObject in your Hierarchy tab (default left)

Click on [Add Component] in the Inspector tab (default right) then select KSP > Part Tools

The [Part Tools (Script)] component should appear in the Inspector tab

Enter your desired KSP output information in the new [Part Tools (Script)] component

Press the [Part Tools (Script)] > [Write] to output

-----------------

For the 0.23 part tools update, you need to navigate to your project directory (by default (under Windows)this will be in your Documents directory, C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\[UnityProjectName])

Copy the PartTools folder from the PartTools023.zip to the Assets subdirectory of you Unity Project directory (there should already be a PartTools there from the 0.20 package, overwrite all conflicts to update).

ok, guess the do the "add component" worked, i'm really used to (in unity) having the drag n drop, like in the tutorial and I made a habit out of it, since I've used unity prior to the add component button.. (who remembers tornado twins being the only tutorial and island demo being the latest tech ?).
