NASA and KSP future?

'Partnership' might be a too big word at this early stage.

I do hope that ARM will be 'Part 1' of many cooperative efforts between SQUAD and the 'real deal' agencies.

NASA doing it will possibly turn enough heads for other big players to notice.

A fleshed out contract system and a robust system to track win/fail conditions is essential to this, and we're getting there in 0.24 :).

I dream it'll become 'default PR practice' for large publicly known space-related organisations to release a parts or mission pack for KSP

More 'serious' agencies/companies might 'need' stuff like entry-heat and a life-support (or general resources) system before they can convince enough people in charge that such would be a 'serious' PR thing to do, not just 'lets join in with the space-game-hype'.

NASA co-op got us asteroids (or fast-tracked them), imagine what other features would get a boost if other 'big time' folks gain interest.
