Joint Space Station Project (JSSP)

I think I'll add a DSM Training and Dispatchment module (Deep space mission.) Basically it will be a hitchhiker and science thing with a Senior Universal Docking Port (A big docking port clipped with a medium docking port) and shielded thingy stuff.

Maybe. I'm putting up an airlock. Maybe a cargo module, for LF, MP, OX, JF and EC? Liquid Fuel, MonoProp, Oxidizer, Jet Fuel, and Electricity. I say jet fuel for SSTO's.

But then again, that's your choice. I had an idea for a cargo module also....hm....I can't send one up with my airlock though.

I have one!: i could send up a truss section for the solar panels but, build with Jet fuel tanks for SSTO's.

IF you would like, "The Mass Key" shipyards can send up a section dedicated to refueling ships, Two orange tanks, some RCS tanks, Xenon tanks and plain ole jet fuel. I do have a station segment in mind for it and will get to developing it and submit plans of the refueling section.

ok i made one up real fast but it is sitting at 112 parts, mostly struts.

Fuel load out is:

2730 RCS

7080 Fuel

7480 Oxidizer

9600 Xenon

8000 Power units

There is also 2 inline Sr docking port for station connections fore and aft of the module, 2 Jr docking ports, and 4 standard sized docking ports.

And now a few pictures of the section, please notice that the capsule is there only for looks and there is 3 parts that are related to the capsule, under the decoupler is a Sr docking port. Once separated the decoupler will stay with the capsule and these parts are subtracted already from the part count.

I think it would be a really good idea if everyone would post a pic of the current space station each time they add something, so that way we kind of get a time-evolution of the station for future thread-viewers :)

Agreed! I was planning on videoing my addition. By the way for the file transfer do we have to use dropbox (or a similar program) or can you attach files to PMs?

Center truss is being launched and docked to the center hub with 2 side ports for the solar panels and 1 top port for either another Solar array or as a docking hub for spacecrafts.

Nice that should give me plenty o "space" for what I have in mind

um what size is the docking ports on the side. ?

Medium sized all over the entire module.

Ok, before I do my launch, a few things.

a) How do I attach the Persistent.sfs to the PM as I don't have an account?

B) There is a docking port on the airlock, DO NOT DOCK TO THIS! This is for crew/cargo resupply only.

Plus, I just need to find a suitable rocket for it. Do not worry.

You can upload it to a fileshare website like IDriveSync and 4shared.

I'm ok with it as long as its under 50 parts.

with a 50 part limit, i'm going to lose a lot of soundness of the whole section, I wanted it to be the 2 large orange tanks the rcs and the Xenon tanks. The Xenon and Rcs do take up a rather large part count due to how little a part holds. I'll fiddle with it some more and see what i can do. What is the most you will bend to allow in maybe 75ish?

Don't forget there are other people...this is a joint project and "bending" the part limit is cutting into what everyone else can contribute. The Mass Key Shipyards seems to be pretty creative, I'm sure you can accomplish much with 50 or less. :)

I agree with guz667, just think of it as an engineering challenge or something. My initial design had 25 parts which I've since reduced to 12 while maintaing functionality~
