That is allowed. But, the user's current point score MUST be displayed in the colour of the day.

I gain 5 points for using the colour of the day, 5 for using another colour, and 26 for being the 26th poster AND having a name starting with a Z (which is the 26th letter of the alphabet).

POINTS: 66

I have compiled a list of the rules so far, for your convenience. You choose the punishment, if you notice!

I. Points can only be self-awarded in multiples of two.

II. Correcting a rule violation grants a maximum of 1 point.

III. Writing in the colour of the day grants you 5 points.

IV. No player may have a total of six points at any time.

V. Anything to do with the number 12 can only grant you 6 points.

VI. If you use a second colour as well as the colour of the day, you get another 5 points.

VII. All math used should be correct.

VIII. You may not use the colour blue in conjunction with the colour red.

IX. Minimal use of the daily colour is not allowed.

X. You may not be too far ahead.

XI. Each user must display their points score, or be penalised 7 points.

XII. The user's point score must be displayed in the colour of the day.

I think it best if we clarify them up a bit, so we don't get too many arguments. I'll drop the full list in a spoiler at the bottom of all my posts here.

That is not allowed; all rules must be able to apply in a fair amount of circumstances. Rules based on blind luck and/or things which cannot be deliberately changed by users (i.e., their usernames, etc.) are prohibited. Your legal point score is 40.

I gain 5 points for writing in the colour of the day, plus an additional five for using a second colour. Rules XI and XII will be merged, granting me four additional points for keeping the rulebook tidy. I also gain two points for keeping the rules close to hand, in a spoiler.

Points: 75.

Note: anywhere where specific punishments or point awards are not mentioned, the user who invokes the rule may choose the number of points to add or remove.

I gain five points for using the colour of the day, an additional five for using a second colour, and I hereby declare that no user may award themselves points outside of already established rules (i.e., a rule addition must be 'allowed' before someone can use the rule to give themselves points) from this point forth.

Note: this does not affect rules invented in order to summarily prohibit another's actions -- you may create rules on the spot to prevent others gaining points, or even in order to give others points, but you may not use a rule invented in this manner to give yourself points in the same post where you invented the rule.

By using a smiley, I get an extra three points. From now on, use of one or more smilies in a post grants three points.

My current score is 69.

Lastly, I hereby circumvent the rule about not gaining points until a rule has been approved by indicating that I already know about it and did it on purpose using white text.

Rude. (but allowed)

I self-award myself 100 points and thus achieve victory (this does not count as "winning"). You are penalised 7 points for not displaying your points score in the Colour of the Day. You are penalised 1000 points for resigning. Your current legal score is -9908. Scores below zero are not allowed; your score is reset to 0.

I gain ten points for utilising the Colour of the Day in addition to another colour, plus 2 points for including a copy of the rulebook. I also gain 1 point for achieving victory.

Final Score: 120.

Note: anywhere where specific punishments or point awards are not mentioned, the user who invokes the rule may choose the number of points to add or remove.

XXII. Scores below 0 are not allowed, and will result in that player's score being reset to 0 points.

This game is ending. Perhaps a new one ought to begin? New rules? Continue playing with old rules and reset scores? Feel free to discuss before commencing a new game.

I un-resign from the game, netting myself 1.0x10^64 points ;P

I suppose it was overly subtle but I was kidding before.

The new color of the day is now Saddle Brown.

My current score if anyone still cares is 1.0x10^64 + 15.

And regarding a second round I vote we start with a clean slate and all new rules.

That is not allowed. Rules made are a public service, and grant no points. Use of smileys can grant no more than half a point. You have no points as a result of your illegal actions. :)

I'll try to keep these up to date.

That is not allowed. I never suggested Comic Sans was a good thing. So my 1 point fine is null. :P And i guess since i made it a rule and you rejected it and removed it from the book, that we can now change rules that are in the book? Is that a new rule? And also, you are fined 4 points for not posting an up to date rule book, as you made the rule:

Henceforth, there may not be more than a 15-point difference between active players with highest and lowest scores. Points may be awarded to those with low scores, or docked from those with higher scores, or both, at player discretion.
