Kessler? I hardly know her!

I`ve started a save with this as the first launch.

I`m going to launch at least ten of them. You spin them up and then fire off the action groups. Each launch will make about 300 pieces of debris. I`ll put the first one on a circular 80km equatorial orbit. The next will be 80x100, 80x250 and pretty much any orbit I think of until the whole sky is fast moving pieces of debris.

I`ve put one on a retrograde 80km orbit and one on a polar 80km orbit already.

When the sky is filled with more debris than can be counted then I will start my space program.

I`ll keep you posted (irregularly)

If anyone has an idea for an orbit, I can go to a max of 80x250

Orbits already in place

80x80

82x75

40x250

80x250

80x80(retro, 180 inc)

80x80(10 degree inc)

80x80 polar

Ok I have reached 2323 pieces of debris and I have great lag.

It`s time to go to the Mun!

Jeb, bill and bob are on the pad in KerPollo 8P (Prototype) preparing to launch to an 80km orbit (where most of the debris is)

I think, yes, they will have to EVA for some reason more concerned with plot than physics.

You don't need pieces that big. Chances to hit them are low already, a metre or to doesn't mean a thing. It is possible to launch hundreds of pieces at once, and it can be very compact.. Just use those small blue separators spaced radially, 8-fold symmetry. 64 of them per "floor", and then stack lots of such floors. Action grouping is a mess, but hey... It's compact. :)

I did a similar thing few days ago and I actually tried to EVA rendezvous with a small cubic strut.
