Andrew's craft showcase / Midair Refueling Development Labs [Resurrected]

It's really easy to point and hit into docking port. Most problematic is that the docking port need to pull(magnet) other docking port and stick them in certain position. I can make ports like that, but it needs few seconds till it bounds and that's most problematic. Anyway fuel in real mid-air refuel flow through fuel connector which is flexible. KSP needs something stiff (for example girders) to hold docking port

Maybe not related too much, but I decided to take a crack at fanfiction. Or at least parodying the cliches.

On a related note, I decided to build a new tanker. It should allow for much better stability, and better module expandability.

xoknight and mareczex333 have become the first people to achieve midair refueling. I hope to see other attempts and will attempt my own midair refueling very soon.

Concept refining is next.

Midair refueling is finally achieved. xoknight used my sr-72 in the first ever military refueling docking run, while Mareczex333 used his own designs for a full and stable refueling in midair recently.

Sr-72.

And now the original craft.

From my skunkworks, I roll out to you my newest black project. The versatile sr-72.

It is extremely maneuverable, has a low stall speed, has almost 3000 units of liquid fuel, can be drone operated, has light landing gear with a unique structural design, has low observability features integrated, can communicate over four channels, and is hypersonic capable. SSTO conversion can also occur on demand.

Aesthetic changes have occurred since these photos. All aspects are now improved, and it is much more sleeker for stealth along with capability for mid air re fueling.

Tanker prototype in progress.

Was requested to post this here... so here it is!

and the (non-tutorial) version that sparked all the requests for the tutorial video...

Awesome! I'm going to reopen the MRL as a new company, and we're officially hiring! KC-135, here we come!

Also, I'm planning on modifying this jet for my attempt.

Here it is! The MKII non-armed revision of the Avro Vulcan. Fast, large, stylish, and capable of performing some nice tricks without SAS, this is truly a plane from the Cold War.

Has this been done with the new claws? That would seem a lot easier....

Gue

We haven't done it with claws yet, and the issue lies mostly within the structural rigidity. I'm thinking of a way to integrate it, though.

Receiving craft is progressing. (Includes concealed batteries.) Vulcan MK V is well under development and will soon be tested for rendezvous with the KC-135.

It's a development of my Avro Vulcan for my MRL (Mid-air Refueling Labs). It's armed with 8 guided missiles and can carry it's own weight in payload without breaking a sweat.
