How to Combine Two parts together?

So I have a Duna lander that needs a custom accent engine. I have went and put the custom parts together and it wont stick when i add the part to the lander becuase KSP thinks it two parts not one. is there any way to combine them?

Can you describe the orientation of the two pieces? Is it an engine with an accent piece on top, or on the side?

Have you tried turning on part clipping? That will allow you to put one inside the other.

It modded off of the Apollo accent stage. So a modded Rockomax 48-7S with a modded Rockomax X200-8 Fuel Tank. I cant get the welder mod to work its not showing up in vab. Every other mod works just fine.

The Welding Mod can be made to work by replacing a DLL file. Check this link.

ALT + F12

This brings up the debug menu. You can select the option: Allow part clipping in editor.
