Guest Flixxbeatz
We all want to go beyond the speed of light, but there\'s some sort of unknown force that hinders most of us to go overboard, which is dubbed the 'Space Kraken'.I\'ve tried all possible countermeasures (insanely powered RCS thrusters, strut reinforcing, thrust vectoring, massive multiple wings) but they\'ll just lose their effectivity once a certain speed is achieved.Any other possible and effective ways to totally outsmart the Space Kraken? NovaSilisko
I would suggest a normal SAS module with a Kp (I think that\'s the one) of 50000, torque of 50000, and all other PID values at 0. Far smaller numbers were able to hold a normal rocket completely rigid.
Guest Flixxbeatz
Will try it right away.
NovaSilisko
One of the SAS values works as a very effective killrot. Like I said I think it\'s Kp, but if that doesn\'t work try the others.
astrophysics147
what you need is the most thrust you get for your mass to increase your Acceleration.
Cepheus
what you need is the most thrust you get for your mass to increase your Acceleration. The problem isn\'t getting to c. That, we can do. The problem is actually controlling the damn thing.
Guest Flixxbeatz
For the people who don\'t know who/what is/the Space Kraken is... Watch. If you can\'t see the navball clearly, I\'m already travelling at around ~160,000m/s (0.0005c) at the start of the video and I\'m at 178,202m/s (0.0006c) when I\'ve ended the mission. I\'m not even near c actually, and things are starting to go out of hand.

RangerDanger75
Why would too much RCS be a bad thing? Wouldn\'t that help stabilize the ship?
Guest GroundHOG-2010
Why would too much RCS be a bad thing? Wouldn\'t that help stabilize the ship? One word, Overcorrection. On larger ships, you get a wobble with the ASAS and sas, as it goes full out on direction, and they back the other. Too much RCS multiplies that with the ASAS.
Tosh
When I tried to fight Kraken RCS was of no help at all. It seemed that Kraken simply ate RCS exhaust

Hypocee
At high velocities ships rotate without input or even overriding it. The direction and magnitude of rotation change from second to second, and are usually unpredictable but can enter seemingly stable oscillation modes. Pod torque input axes sometimes get reversed as well. People have jokingly dubbed this the Deep Space Kraken gripping the ship.

Zephram Kerman
I was working on a way to get around this, by injecting high-energy plasma through a coil to make a powerful magnetic field that warps space. But the night before our test flight, the E-Con bombarded our silo with some kind of green energy weapon, Dina got me drunk, and her weird friend with the banana clip on his face fixed the thing for me. Fortunately, we got Phoenix into the sky. Banana clip guy, Dina\'s 'not BF', and I were all rocking out to Steppenwolf. Swedish hitmen from the future nearly ruined everything. But Dina\'s friends showed up in a big ole UFO! You believe me, right? 8)
