How to target specific docking ports

So while wandering Facebook today I found a post from the KSP group about things you might not know about the game. Anyway, it implied that I could target specific docking ports on my station/ship by right clicking the specific port I want to dock with. However, I have had no luck with this and my little green square remains firmly affixed to the spot no matter which port I click. Did I read that wrong or am I doing something wrong?

The square will not change, but the indicator on the navball will.

Silent Majority is right, however, you also need to be within 200m to do it to begin with. Any further and it's not even an option.

Ah so right click the appropriate port and follow the naval then. Thank you very much, some of my docking operations were a little awkward.

Edit the first post, then select Go Advanced. You should be able see the dropdown menu to change the tags, just like when you first posted the thread.
