New Solar System

Hey there Kebalnauts.

I'm new to the modding of KSP, and have thought up a grand idea. The premise of this mod is to make a new solar system far away from the home system of Kerbin.

What I am looking for at the moment to help myself create this mod are the base files for the main planets/solar system for the stock game. I honestly don't know what I'm looking for, so any help with being pointed in the right direction would be most appreciated. Also, what programs should I use to make mods? I have not been able to find any tutorials that fit my needs. Once again, any help would be most appreciated.

P.S. I haven't seen anyone try to create this yet, so please let me know if it has been done before.

Unfortunately KSP is closed source, and so you cannot access the "files" were information about the planets is stored. The best you can do is look through the public members of the code with an object browser. As for the rest, it has kinda been done yes, PlanetFactory does support more stars I think.

Oh. What program would I use to view the public members of the code? Also, I am trying out Krag's mod.

Visual Studio can do that. Else you can look up "Object browser" on google and you should find a few good programs
