[WIP] Galt Industries Structural Division

Introducing the first parts from Galt Industries Inc.

The Structural Division of Galt Idustries inc. would like to present Exact Length Trusses.

Made from High-Karbon Steel for extra durability. Due to inconsistencies in Maxo Construction Toys girder sizes, we here at Galt Industries Structural Division are proud to present our own modular truss system.

Currently included are an adapter, a hub and trusses in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 Meter lengths.

(This is categorized as a WIP because of the behavior of the attachment nodes on the hub. I'm also unsure as to how to link to a common texture to reduce the overall file size.)

Turns out I'm an idiot and just had to follow ALL the steps to UV unwrap the objects. They now have textures. next job is to figure out how to reduce the texture size. I'm also wondering if there's any interest in other sizes trusses or weird connectors like y-joints and 30-45-60 degree joints. or if all I'm doing is building this stuff for myself.

I would suggest 2-way (elbow), 3-way ("T"), and a 4-way adapter be added to this set.

What are those made out of? Rearden Metal?

nope, but thanks for recognizing the reference. Rearden Metal might come later, its much glossier than steel. plus I have to figure out how to make a metallic blue-green texture.

My two eyes don't jive on how they see color so I wasn't sure what color it was. Right eye says blue grey, left says gray teal.

Read Atlas Shrugged, don't see much difference between the behavior of her ruling elite crony soviet thugs and the modern monopolist robber baron oligarchy. Both use the structure of the state to get what they want by hook or crook (by making their theft law).

there isn't much difference between the two, just look at the state of affairs in eastern europe right now.

Anyway, the link has been updated to the newest version. textures are 1/16th the size, 256x256 instead of 1024x1024. Also included are Cross, L and T Truss adapters. Next question is, does anyone want bigger trusses, scaled to fit 2.5 and 3.75M ships, I was thinking something hexagonal, stretch my skills some.
