Random Thing: INTRO

So I was thinking:

Old games have intros, and maybe KSP could have one too.

It would be action oriented, and then slow, during building.

It's a simple thing, and I think it will really wrap up the game's outer features.

My only problem with this is the game is still very much in development. It would be hard to keep it up to date with the current features.

Something simpler would probably be the best, but its all speculation. Plenty of time for an intro, that some plays will probably leave out of their game shortcut anyways!(make it so they skip the intro always)

Were this done, it would have to be about the events leading up to the opening shot we see now. It starts out all serious, like an epic space film, things go haywire, and then the true nature of the Kerbal comes out, resulting in a lot of screaming and crying for Mommie. And then by some miracle, the pod survives the Munar impact, and everybody is happy.

....until they realize they have no way to get home.

But I think it would be a nice touch, and it would be skip-able. It would just make you tense before the loading screen, or after for that matter.

I like it a lot. It could be played when loading a save. Then you are hyped up to build something.

It should be possible to deactivate the playback in the settings.

Aye, the video could perhaps be played as the game loads, and then go to the standard picture slideshow if loading takes any longer than the video. Make it skippable for people who absolutely must preserve every disk IOPS for game loading purposes.
