The Rescue of Maldous Kerman

Maldous is stuck on Eve after successful landing with a broken lander. This was my first landing on Eve. The goal was to land on Eve highest mountain and du to an accident during stage separation, the lander lost 3 tanks and engines and did not land on this mountain.

See here the first rescue mission that was not successful, the rescue lander did not get enough DV for take off

Here on the top of the ascent vehicle is the rescue lander

179T on landing only with chutes (4,5m/s at 4000m), )chutes system with 186 MK2+6 lighter MK1 and 12 MK25. All 60 gears and all chutes ejectable before take off. Asparagus stages. 129T on take off 9250 DV on ground, 10550 in Vac.

BEGINNING ASCENT: Orbit 100km; Gravity turn 27.5 km; Turn Shape 50%: I DID MANY TRIES and THIS CONFIG GIVES THE BEST DV LEFT in ORBIT

STAGES SEPARATION: untill 6000m we got hardly a speed of 60-70m/s

Starting TWR must be at least 1.55, it grows to 1.7 when burning fuel, then decrease to 1.45 at stage separation, then grows to 1.7

Above 10000M, with a TWR of 1.5 you begin real acceleration; it's very hard to beat gravity!

The shuttle can Handle 3 cans. The pusher as got 1300DV left and the shuttle got 3000. More than necessary, but it decreases rapidly if we had heavy cans

A second Rescue lander has been sent to Eve, because we have another Kerbal to rescue.

Then, when both cans will be docked, we will make our way back to Kerbin
