.23 save lost forever?

Hi, I recently upgraded to .23.5. However I upgraded before the hotfix and it nuked my career. I still have a quicksave. I can edit it probably, so is there anyway I can save my career? At all? I'm so sad and depressed and I almost feel as if I will never play KSP again. If you can fix it please please do I'm not very good with technical things...

You may find this thread to be helpful Just substitute the quicksave for your old persistent.sfs in the instructions; the file structure is essentially the same.
