How long does it take for Asteroids to show up?

Recommended Posts

In my case, it happened pretty much instantly. I fired up the game post-update, went to the tracking center (at 1x), and was immediately surrounded by at least five ?s, with new ones coming into range and waiting to be turned into actual rocks every minute.

Click over to the VAB, then click back to the Tracking Station. I did this, and a few started to show up pretty quickly. When I was staring at Tracking Station with time warp, I was getting nothing at first, too.

Just played for over an hour on an old save, haven't seen one 'Unknown' pop up yet, mostly at 1x (doing some orbital fuel-transfer and surface operations) :(

I'll have to try the "switch-to-VAB-and-back" trick and see if it makes a difference...

Today I installed 0.23.5. A little late, but I had other things to do :( I always run a clean version of KSP (no mods) for every new installment. First thing I did, was looking for some obvious changes. As soon as I went to the tracking station a unknown object popped up. Maybe I was lucky?

You need to zoom out beyond Kerbin's SOI - aka you should be able to see duna. I think some people may be looking for asteroids within Kerbin's SOI :)

I wasn't looking past Kerbin's SoI, however, that shouldn't matter...shouldn't I still see a "1" or "2", etc. next to "Unknown" at the top of the Tracking Center screen?
