Mechjeb/Career issue

Hi Guys (gals)

I'm having problems using Mechjeb in career mode. It shows up in the tech tree just fine, but when I'm building a rocket, the button for it is grayed out and I can't use it.

I tried the "TechRequired = start" I've seen while searching online, in the cfg file, but no joy.

My understanding is that different function of MechJeb unlock as you progress through the tech tree; when you first unlock it, it is simply a probe core.

Hi,

I've had no luck activating MechJeb in Career mode. I can purchase the modules just fine, and they do show up in the builder, but are grayed out.

I'm guessing it's something in the cfg file I can set. Can anyone help me out?

I should add, that it works fine in Sandbox. It's fine in the tech tree, and I can purchase the parts. The button in the VAB is just inactive.

Do you have any old part in the KSP/parts folder ? Try deleting the KSP/Gamedata/Mechjeb2/ and reinstalling.

Most of the time the error you have come from having 2 MJ parts configured with the same name.

Alright I've figured it out. I reinstalled, and then from there realized I needed to click on mechjeb on the tech tree and further research it there from the icon.
