hey, I gotta ask. this mod is AMAZING but is there any way we could get fuel or KAS storage units added on? that'd just be amazing, and finish off the set! I'd be able to make entirely modular ships...

KAS storage wedge is being created as we speak. We'll also be doing a monoprop wedge. We don't plan to do other fuel types as the volume of the wedge is so small you'd need lots of them to get a usable amount of fuel in there. Your best bet is to use a stackable tank under the US layer.

For fuel I was thinking enough to mimic up one of these; http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Oscar-B_Fuel_Tank. Maybe just enough to knock a probe out of orbit, or make a tiny correction- cos sometimes I ended up with an empty gap I couldn't figure how to fill on the smallest 1m setup. Was just a thought though.

Feel free to retexture and tweak the .cfg of our monoprop wedge when it's released :) It shouldn't be too much longer, and when everythings finished i might muck around with other wedge types in the future in a seperate pack. TAC is the end goal for this mod though, as it seems to be turning into the de-facto life support choice for most people.

Deal. :) Also a shame you're going TAC. It's -far- too complicated for me, sadly. :(

Any chance you might have an ETA on the TAC pack? Obviously if you can't say because you're busy or are trying to solve some sort of problem, I understand, and it's obviously entirely up to you whether you want to even release it and so on.

Is there a Realism Overhaul patch for this? Because I SO want this for my RSS install. And it's realistic.

I don't think we'll create a Realism pack, but all the values we use are real world values, and I can only think of a few minor changes that would need to be made to work with real fuels.

I highly encourage anyone who wants to produce and release a module manager file to make Universal Storage RSS compatible.

Its a combination of waiting for TAC to switch to liters (so we don't waste time doing our configs, and then the mod changes and we have to do it all over again) and making the remainder of the parts (blank SIM bay, food, water, wastefood, wastewater, waterpurifier). Real life stuff aside, shouldn't take any longer than a month - but it all boils down to the final format TAC settles at and whenever that switchover happens.

Version 0.62 is out!

This is a minor release to fix a bug with the Sabatier reactor. I've also updated Module Manager to 2.0.7 (there is currently a save breaking issue with 2.1.0 and I'll wait until that issue is resolved).

I've also added the last release date to the thread title and included the change log (which is also on the main mod page at kingtiger.co.uk)

As ever, let me know if you have any issues.

hi again i tried the new version with module manager 2.1.0 and the error what ever it was is gone now yay :) now my other question...Sabatier reactor in the description reads 0.0 fuel/h i tried converting resources to LF but i doesn't fill the empty tank.....is there a trick i need to do or did i get everything wrong? i attached CO2 tanks (filled),hydrogen, water everything and beneath an empty LFO tank....anyway great job on this mod keep it up :)

you might wanna put out a warning to TAC users atm that unless they change the densities or the entire name of oxygen for one of the 2 mods (I recommend Universal Storage due to less parts and therefore less .cfgs to edit), the oxygen wedge will weigh 19.5 tons

Universal Storage is not currently TAC compatible. It will be when we release the TAC pack.

Wait a sec. How are you guys planning on dealing with the crossover with TAC for "Oxygen" and "Water" resources? Or will the fuel cells actually just use the same resource and convert it to water which would then be sent to TAC water tanks too anywhere on the ship...or am I missing something.

Curse all these resource names. I wish Squad would just publish a standard resource name table we could all work from so everything is agreed on a cross-compatibility is the norm.

Im using TAC with this mod. What density would you recommend I change oxygen too?

I just changed the density in TAC's folder to match Universal Storage's 0.0000014290

The oxygen and water we use will be the same as the resources TAC uses. So yes, our fuel cell produces water than TAC can use for drinking. Likewise the Carbon Dioxide TAC produces can be converted in our Sabatier reactor. WHat is currently diffrent is the units. TAC uses 24 hours supply for 1 kerbal (a day's worth). We're using liters.

Yeah that would make life easier. There are a couple of modder driven initiatives to standardise resources between mods, but it relies on modders sticking to it. Universal Storage follows the system, but currently TAC does not (which is why our mod won't be TAC compatible until we release the TAC pack which will include a converter.

I can understand why you want to have a consistent unit across all mods, but I must say that I personally find it more intuitive to look at life support resources the way TAC does. I don't have to try and remember how many liters of water a Kerbal drinks in a day, or how many cubic meters of oxygen he will consume. A man-day's worth of resources will last for 24 hours with one Kerbal, or 8 hours for a crew of three.

I'm not recommending that you change, just trying to offer insight into why that works.

It's worth mentioning that TAC's creator just moved across the USA and hasn't been online recently while getting settled. I'm also looking forward to the changes and being able to use Universal Storage with TAC.

Gotta agree with HeadHunter on that one. Changing TAC to litres instead of the far easier to remember man-day would perhaps be more technically accurate, but far less useful to players. But I suppose that's for the TAC thread. I just hope they see the light. Gameplay should really come first.
