So, what'ya think of my asteroid-plane prototype?

So these are the wings of an asteroid-plane I'm planning on building. I'm going to capture a class B or C asteroid in LKO, dock these wings on, and deorbit it hopefully to land at KSC.

Later!

What's it for?

Asteroids. xD

I'm planning on docking either a B or C asteroid inside the wings and tail and adding landing gear and fly it in like general Greivous's mother ship.

Like this but with wings

Or just land it :I

This might be a bit late... but; I don't have much experience with asteroids but I do with planes. Personally I'd use the basic jet engines over the ones you have, since I'm pretty sure they give you more thrust in lower altitudes plus they use less fuel as well, two things you'll need when lugging a several ton rock around . Also, do you have a plan on getting the wings into orbit, plus how are you going to deorbit it? Other than that, it looks like it might work, plus I don't think anyone has tried flying an asteroid down. :D

I'm planning on making a something like a hang glider with a (big)cage to hold my rocks. I don't expect to use any engines on the descent, maybe just some parachutes to control the landing. I think you are going to need more wings and a lot more control surfaces. Have you done some CoM/CoL tests on ballast payloads?
