Perhaps more important, in 0.23 it was no big issue launching 100 ton into orbit, problem was that an 100 ton Jool mission tend to use an pretty long ship and with the old joins the only way to do this was to build the launcher around the ship, with 0.235 I can just put it on top as joins are stronger.

How is that a bad thing? E: Or rather, is that a bad thing?

Ah, I see, thanks chaps. Long way to go before I have the 'perfect' efficient, low part-count, high payload-ratio launch vehicle, etc. I think. Until then, the challenge continues.

No not saying it is a bad thing, just that it become easy to launch 100-200 ton parts.

If you want challenging launches try launching 500 ton ships.
