I don't think pressing f2 at the right time should give me more than half as many points as taking Jeb on a grand tour. I'll take 0.6 points, though.

Holy ****. I just checked my points count on the first page. I have more than half of all points possible to get in the challenge (exactly 500) (not counting the 10.6 extra points).

I'm not going to keep on the rate I'm at right now, though. Some stuff is coming up in life, etc, you know the drill.

P.S. Is there going to be a super-ICAR for getting the full 500? (not counting extra points)

That is pretty ambitious. How many flights you think will be required?

I believe it will require 6 flights, including the one I have already made. To be honest, the fuel modules are just for ease of Jeb's Grand Tour and will most likely be downsized.

Update: got it down to 3 flights, but each weighs a bit more than a rocko fuel tank and there is no room for error.

Also, did you try pm-ing him?

EDIT: I have all the peices on the Mun, should have them assembled by tomorrow and then I'm taking a LOOOONG break from all this mess.

EDIT EDIT: There's just one piece that won't dock- perfectly aligned, it's just that the two ports are somehow blacklisted for one another. I will try to find a solution.

It took me almost two weeks. I can't take it any more. Singe that module can't dock, I'll just have to send up another thing.

Oh wait- I don't have to dock the shuttle to the other crawler- the crawler can be the 9th module. I'll get straight on that.

You won't have an issue with me using non spaceplane SSTOs, will you? I have a VTVL SSTO that can carry 82 tons to a 120km orbit and I can land it afterwards.

So let me get this straight... I need to have 2 bases at different planets, and crew transportation between the 2?

What if my 2 bases are both surface-bases on 2 different bodies? Would that count? because I hate micro-gravity, it makes you flimsy & fragile... :-(

I guess you could say my computer is beastly. However, that particular SSTO is only 47 parts. I had a similar design using lots of the Rockomax 48-7S for thrust, and it was over 2000 parts if I remember correctly. Very painful to fly. Crashes if I load it from the VAB. Have to load it onto the launch pad directly. But I discovered that the big Kerbodyne engine is better than lots of those little ones so I switched and now it's only 47 parts. (and another slightly larger one I made has 167 parts)

Also I'd like to make an entry to this challenge:

SSTO: 1 Type +4

Max Kerbals: 21 +10

Stock Parts, stock physics +100

I'm using my career mode save because I am trying to setup a Jool station to collect science. There are no crafts or debris in this save other than two probes that I am using to mark the runway. (dropped there by a rover)

I will attempt to launch everything with my Brunhild SSTO

21 Kerbals are launched into a 74x72 orbit with 5 hitchhiker cans and a Copula command pod

Marking the runway is a good way to estimate your glide ratio

OP, please take my point score off the first post. I have cheated twice. I used unbreakable joins and no crash damage when landing on Duna, I hacked my orbit when sending the station west to east, and I used hack gravity many times during the building of the Mun base.
