Starting a second flight?

Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm having issues right now in have 2 simultaneous flights going on at the same time, my understanding was that this is possible, I wanted to run a sort of interceptor mission but when I click the space center button it just reverts the flight to launch; is this because I have the engines on?

First off, welcome to the forums!

Second, if you're under acceleration or have the throttle open with a shut-down engine, you cannot go to the space center. The text in the button will be yellow.

Can you provide a picture of the situation? Pictures can relay far more information than just a simple text post, and can help us figure out what's going on.

Cheers,

Welcome!

It sounds like you might be talking about airplanes. If that's the case, the game deletes objects that are below 22km and aren't in physics range. Hence, if you try to switch away from a craft under these conditions, the game won't let you.

Physics range is within 2.5km of the craft you are controlling. (Assuming no mods.)

If you aren't in the atmosphere and are further apart, then yes you'll have make sure the ship isn't accelerating as MaverickSawyer said. :)

Also, don't select "revert" from the escape menu. You want to go back to the space center, click on the tracking station, then find the ship you want to control. Alternatively, use the bracket keys (like Aphobius said) if you are within 2.5 km. Or, if you're further, go to the map screen (pressing "M"), left-click on the ship you want to fly, and select "switch to." Sometimes the menu doesn't pop up because a planet or orbit line is in the way. In this case, you can also double click on the ship to switch.
