Lunar eclipse folks, sound off

Time to party! OK, not really. But...

Yeah, sitting up late, waiting for the moon to start turning red. Hopefully the inclement weather heading for the northeast stays away long enough. Got some thin stratus clouds overhead right now, but the moon is still perfectly visible through them.

Who else is waiting up? Folks in the western times zones have this one easy.

I'm in the San Diego area, in my back yard with my trusty (if dinky) 2.5" scope, perfect viewing conditions too. The moon is about 50% obscured at this point and its noticably darker already compared to the full moon's illumination just 30 minutes ago.

Time to bring on the blood!

EDIT: I can see the western limb already taking on a red hue through my scope, it wont be long now.

Update from Santa Cruz: fog settled in and I can no longer see the moon.

The rain came in by 2AM. This region's weather almost never fails to obscure celestial events.

I am soooooo disappointed...

I couldn't simply stay awake, I'm afraid, as I'm still a high schooler under the roof of caring parents, so I had to miss out on it. The thing that makes me really sad is that the skies were utterly cloudless. Maybe next time... ;.;

Watched the moon turn into a sliver and get a bit of red before the cloud cover came in. I needed to go to bed anyway; there are three others to see here in the next, what, 17 months?

Well, I can't complain too much now. That rain brought with it a pretty impressive cold front, and... it's snowing now. Not exactly cool space stuff, but this late in the season, wow, this is even more rare than an eclipse.
