How can I save my kerbal from eve??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So I landed a lander on Eve to explore the planet and take sience points, but now I can't leave anymore, I only have 720 fuel with a small engine because I didn't know you need so many fuel and trust to leave Eve (I am still a bit noobish), so I searched on the internet and it is because of the big atmosphere, but now the question is, how can I rescue them? I have TAC life plugin installed, so soon I need to send a big cargo lander to keep them alive.

Thanks

You're best bet without too many parts is a spaceplane. However, because Eve's atmosphere does not contain any oxygen you will either need the KSP Interstellar mod for it's thermal turbojets, or Kethane for it's Kethane jet. If you don't want either of those you are going to have to build one heck of a lander and make sure your ladders are placed exactly perfect (Otherwise your kerbal won't be able to climb up to the command seat)

How long is their life support? Your first task is going to be getting them supplies, which will be tricky enough. You may need to force an out-of-window transfer, which thankfully for Eve isn't that difficult unless you really are out of time. You'll also need to land precisely, I might send more than one lander to get extra chances. (Or just use quicksave).

Then you're going to have to build yourself an Eve lander. To which my advice is only: Good Luck.

@Taki117

I do have Kethane installed so maybe I can do that, but I never used the kethane jet so I need to experiment with it.

@Red Iron Crown

Really thanks for the threads, they will be really helpfull.

@cantab

They still have around 2 kerbin years of oxygen, I have a waste water to water converter so water is no problem and lesser then 1 kerbin year food, So I guess I need to hurry up now and sending supply or rescuing them is the main priority.
