Obviously, you've never had a cat. They straight-up don't obey the laws of physics. And I strongly suspect that anything in their vicinity would be similarly exempt.

Until the cat eats the toast you have a perpetual motion/anti gravity device. Buttered toast always lands butter side down on the floor, a cat always lands feet first. Therefore if you strap the toast butter side up to the back of the cat, throw it into the air, it will spin until the cat dies without landing on the floor. At which point, the cat/toast device will land butter side down. Viola, perpetual motion as long as the cat remains alive.

Unsure about the eating the toast creating a wormhole, that sounds kind of far fetched to me........
