Plane to the Peak!

Challenge: Land a plane on the narrow peak to the west of KSC. The peak is about 5500 meters in altitude. Only mods permitted are FAR and MechJeb. There are two competition classes: heavyweight and lightweight.

Scoring:

• add 100 points if you land in one piece.
  
• subtract 10 points if you use a parachute.
  
• subtract 10 points if you use a VTOL (vertical) jet engine.
  
• subtract 10 points if you use RCS.
  
• subtract 10 points if you use a rocket engine (ion engines are OK).
  
• In heavyweight class, add the weight of your vehicle.
  
• In lightweight class, subtract the weight of your vehicle.

Question: do ion engines count as rockets, or would they also count for the +5000? I've got an ion plane that cruises at about 50-70m/s that should be perfect for this challenge.

Hmm. A better approach than my one is needed...I ended up "landing" at 125m/s. Needless to say, this did not end well.

Here you are.

One piece, no parachute, no VTOL, no RCS, no rocket engine.

Landing speed was below 40 m/s and I have crashed several times at speeds above that, looks like it's not just rocky texture on these mountains but even the surface is not as forgiving as grass.

Well that was fast! I've put you in the leaderboard. I've also rejiggered the scoring system a bit so that people can still enter with different variations, and also addressed a few questions above.

Also, I don't think I have that mountain.

Try going closer to it, it pops into existence once you're nearby. Or maybe adjust the render setting of the graphics.
