Is the Kraken surfacing more in 23.5?

I've only rarely had encounters with the Kraken but as of late I seem to be meeting up with him rather often. Since 23.5 I have encountered the hell Kraken for the first time, had another Kraken attack a rover's wheels, fuel tanks and command capsule at very unspecific speeds and angles, and to top it off I seem to have found some other strange Kraken that applies phantom forces to my plane after taking off from sea, causing me to drift sideways, upwards and well, everywhere. This is with stock aerodynamics too.

I managed to get all this in around 10 hours or so whereas within my other 190 hours I have only encountered it twice. Bad luck or has anyone else experienced anything similar?

i could of swore there was a thread a week ago with this same title and subject....

Anyways, yes the Kraken is back. It must have something to do with the new joint connections that came with the Unity update. It gives Ships better connections, which allowed us to have the much larger NASA SLS parts. It also gave us much firmer connections between parts, which eliminated a lot of wobble. But because its changes to joints, the kraken is back as it is related to part connections and physics calculations.

Ive already had a few snags already and hope to see some of it fixed next update or soon :)

The Snappen, at least, I think is the result of having a physicsless part as the root of a ship. I was able to avoid it by making sure to use a part with normal physics, which oddly enough does not include the structural fuselage.

That would do a perfect job of explaining why my rover keeps disassembling itself actually. I started with either a panel or girder. I wonder if water based landings are also directly causing the phantom forces in my plane, its as if it actaully locks some air intakes of its own accord causing asymetrical drag

Can't say I've run into anything more frequent or unusual than before, but then again I play with a few mods so I normally put glitches down to them. The only event I hadn't witnessed before was when my station abruptly sheered itself in two and both halves drifted away from each other but KSP still considered them one ship so the camera remained focused on the centre of mass, which was now the empty space between the two halves. Going into tracking station and then back to the station put the station back together though...

I have kerbals that randomly slide up ladders. I also have super dense kerbals that cause multi-ton ships to snap apart at the slightest nudge. This is all new behaviour in 23.5. Kraken related? I can't say for sure.

I've never experienced a Kraken of any kind in 500 hours of play. The closest thing has probably been with the Claw that sometimes gets mislocated when pulling large asteroids. After exiting time warp, the ship with a mislocated Claw may start shaking and rotating violently, but it's always survivable.

Nay. They are not. The true Kraken, (imagine me with a big beard, a pegleg, a missing eye and a glass of rum) the original Kraken was a beast surfacing in low-speed orbits that attacked vessels. It caused them to wobble violently. (imagine me shaking my glass around a bit) Blueberries 'round here have no idea what it's like to fear it (imagine me chugging what's left of my rum), fear leaving home. A lot of kerbals died due to the Deep Space Kraken. I only just made it out of a Kraken attack. It has haunted me every night since that dreadful day.

Seriously though, it has nothing to do with new parts. I made a ship that started rotating wildly after decoupling the capsule. That was a capsule and a chute. Nothing more.
