OK I've read how to install the sunflare and downloaded the modified assets file, where exactly do i put the .dds file? Instructions says not to drag it so just don't even use it? I'm confused.

The instructions were made before I knew I was allowed to add the Assets file. Just drop the assets file into the KSP_Data folder.

Hi, just for your information.

KSP brings up an error message on startup, RealSolarSystem seems to be outdated. Maybe i installed something wrong, but i think it's only an outdated dll. I downloaded the RealSolarSystem Mod and replace the dll with the dll from there and i don't get any error messages since then.

Sorry for my english. Languages are not my strongest ability :/.

Just a question. How is this compatible with .24, when some of the necessary mods are incompatible.

Some problems with that.

1. All the mods are compatible, except for Custom Asteroids.

2. None of the mods are necessary, It's a compilation of mods and you only need what you want.

3. If there are any other mods that are incompatible, please list them instead of just shouting they don't all work.

Question for the OP -- How "primary" is the KerbalStuff download? I like it because it seems to contain all the dependencies needed, especially for an ATM-aggressive x86 install like mine. Nevertheless, the RSS .dll included with that mod flags as being for 0.23.5 and is rated as "incompatible." Replacing that file from the RSS download itself solves that problem. Would you consider updating the KerbalStuff release to reflect this? Thanks.

Original post with instructions could use some updating.

Some of the info is incorrect.

For instance why call something dependency when it is not really necessary.

Please dont take this as hard criticism i like what you have done, but instalation is really confusing.

Do you need help with something ?

No, I'm good, though thanks for asking. I found in THIS mod's download an outdated .dll for one of its dependencies. I found a current .dll from that dependency's own main download, which I had to obtain separately. I replaced the .dll, and we're good. My only suggestion was to update the download to include the updated .dll within the bundle. I presume that there must be one or two users out there, new to using mods, for whom such self-service would be daunting. (I can most assuredly state that my confidence in managing mods is now WAY higher than it was when I started.)

Ok then, new question. I downloaded all three resolution packs (High, Medium, and Low) and I'm getting the same error on all three of them. Trying to extract, remove, copy, or in any way work with [zipfile]\BoulderCo\Clouds\Textures\Laythe1.png generates "Error Code 0x80004005: Unspecified Error" in Win7. I can skip extraction, and I gather one of the cloud layers will be missing as a result, so all is not lost, but I'd still care to hear any advice on what could be causing this. Google searches come up nil, and mostly lead me to Microsoft Knowledge Base discussion threads that consist of someone pretty much describing my problem and receiving "support" replies on how to set up an MKB forum account and telling them to troubleshoot by rebooting and seeing if they can recreate the problem. :-\

So. Yeah. Anyone on this side of Kerbin got any clues?

Additionally, I think the multiple layers of clouds around Kerbin are all drawing from the same texture file. Doesn't seem to be related to the problem above, but in any event, the clouds look to be duplicated -- kind of like when you see a 3d-image on a projector screen and you're not wearing the special glasses. Like there's an afterimage of some kind, or ghost trailing. Pics below.

Hey, so I was having a lot of trouble getting the solar flares to work correctly. I was getting a lot of messages about mismatched versions on sharedassets10.assets in the developer console. I'm on KSP .24.2, and I tested with nothing but the Better Atmospheres mods installed.

So, I played around a bit and I created a new sharedassets10.assets. I did this using the sun_flare.tex.dds file that's in the download, and using the instructions linked in the "Solar Flare Installation guide" linked in the thread. In any case, if someone else is having any issues with solar flares, try using this file instead of the download one.

(Actually, what I did was grab the "Low Res" download from the OP, which includes just the RSS dll (which the 24.2 compatibility checker doesn't like, FYI, but eh) and config file, and just copied that into my GameData.)
The download has not been updated to use the current, correct RSS dll then. The dll it is shipping with was made for .23.5.

I recall that I ran into this, too. Simple solution, I downloaded the RSS mod itself from its own thread and used the .dll from there. For my own personal archival purposes, I also replaced the .dll in the Better Atmospheres zipfile with the correct version. (I do the same thing with Firespitter where applicable -- I find that repackaged .dlls just in general tend to lag behind by at least a version or two.)

For some reason my city lights seem to be displaying wrong... what I mean is that I can see an outline of coastal city lights, but they are off in the ocean. I can replace the city lights information with the original EVE source but I actually prefer these. Any idea where I went wrong, what I can do to fix it, or what cfg file setting I may need to change? Thanks for the help!

My pack doesn't include a "laythe1.png". You may have a config file with a laythe1 needed but don't have one because my pack doesn't have one.

I will be updating it tomorrow, severe storm coming tonight

.

These new planet textures are overleaping with planet textures from RSS. I want RSS planet textures, where I can remove Better Atmosphere planet textures?

This isn't designed to work with RSS in the first place, but they are located in texture replacer/default.

Screenshot please? The only way that can happen is if the file itself has been edited.

I seem to be having an issue with the sun since I started using ATM. It is now just a white ball with black static through it. Has anyone experienced this? I'm assuming I need to add an exemption to ATM so it will ignore the textures but am unsure how and what textures to add.
