Map Management

I don't know if this has been discussed already or not but I need some advice on map Management.

I am using remote tech and I have probes all over mun and kerbin and im having a hard time finding what orbit is what. Can someone give me some advice? Is there a mod out there to tag things and then hide them?

Blue buttons at the top of the map screen filter by vessel/object type. They're always visible from the tracking center, and drop down when you mouse over the top edge in map view. It's a start.
